Community Celebration Fund

The Community Celebration Fund is collaborative partnerships that celebrate the Gladstone region, build community pride, boost our economy and positively promote our region.

Ignite Event

Support for events that contribute to community pride / social outcomes and regional economy that attract up to 2500 people.

Round 2
Opens 1 Jan 2020
Closing 29 Feb 2020.

Impact Event

Support for events that demonstrate tourism and regional economy benefits and attract 2500 – 5000 participants, with 10% out of region visitors.

Round 2
Opens 1 Jan 2020
Closing 29 Feb 2020.

Destination Event

Support for events that are well established, well designed, and clearly demonstrate return on investment building community pride, return visitation, regional profile, economic stimulus and attract over 5000 participants, with 15% out of region visitors.

Round 2
Opens 1 Jan 2020
Closing 29 Feb 2020.

Signature Event

Support events that drive the primary criteria of destination profile, economic impact and overnight visitor expenditure. Attracts visitors that invest in the region and over 25% out of region visitors.

Community Event

Support for community led events (including Australia Day) that are run by community organisations for broad public benefit.

  • Generates economic activity in the Gladstone Region.

Overnight Visitation

  • Attracts external visitation specifically generating overnight visitor expenditure.

  • Demonstrates financial sustainability.

Environmental Sustainability

  • Demonstrates environmental sustainability.

Funding Rounds

Applications for the 2019/20 financial year are offered all year round:

Round 1

  • Opens 1 July 2019
  • Open all year round

It is Council’s preference that applications are received six months prior to the event.

Funding Available

No funding limit has been applied.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for Signature Event funding, the organisation:

Must be one of the following:

  • Not-for-profit community organisation based in or servicing the Gladstone Regional Council area OR
  • A business based in or servicing the Gladstone Regional Council area OR
  • Not-for-profit sporting organisation/active recreation group based in the Gladstone Regional Council area.

And must:

  • Incorporated (not applicable for businesses)
  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or complete and attach a “Statement by a supplier” form
  • Financially solvent

Community Event funding supports community led events (including Australia Day events) that are run by community organisations for broad public benefit.

The Community Event objectives are:

  • Provides an opportunity for people of the Gladstone Regional Council area to gather, celebrate and participate (broad public benefit)
  • Foster a sense of community pride in our region and our national identity.

Funding Rounds

Applications for the 2019/20 financial year are offered in three rounds:

Round 1

  • Opens 1 October 2019
  • Closes 31 October 2019

For events held January 2020 to April 2020

Round 2

  • Opens 1 February 2020
  • Closes 29 February 2020

For events held May 2020 to August 2020

Round 3

  • Opens 1 June 2020
  • Closes 30 June 2020

For events held September 2020 to December 2020

Funding Available

Applicants can apply up to a maximum of $1,500 (ex GST).

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for Community Event funding, the organisation must:

  • Not-for-profit community organisation based in or servicing the Gladstone Regional Council area (other than a sporting club)
  • Incorporated
  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or complete and attach a “Statement by a supplier” form
  • Financially solvent
