Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting a pest management control program at Kroombit Tops National Park from 20 October 2025 to 7 November 2025 (weather permitting) as part of the conservation management program for the park.
All control activities are conducted in accordance with the Kroombit Tops pest management plan, helping to protect native plants and wildlife from the harmful effects of introduced plants and animals. Firearms, poisons, herbicides, or traps may be in use.
As a result, the following areas are temporarily closed for the duration of the pest management program:
- Kroombit Tops National Park, including all accesses, campgrounds, and visitor points.
All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure.
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
Facilities will reopen when the event is completed.
