Sport and Recreation Grants Program Sport and Recreation Grants Program

Council's Sport & Recreation Section administer the sport and recreation grants program to support the local sporting community. Grants for sport and active recreation groups cover a wide range of projects and initiatives including field / court upgrades, club amenities, lighting, shade, club training and equipment purchases.

Under the program there are three grants which provide opportunities for groups to apply for funding.

Facility Assistance Grants (two categories)


Community Projects

Assists local sporting clubs to fund projects that enhance and develop sport and recreation facilities which deliver long term benefits to the Gladstone Regional Community.

1 round per year - opens 8 August 2016

Funding is available to multiple organisations. The minimum grant available under the program is $2,500 and the maximum grant available is $60,000.

Strategic Projects

Assists local sporting organisations to deliver a significant new or upgraded sporting facility that is consistent with Gladstone Regional Council's Strategic Plans.

1 round per year - opens 8 August 2016

Funding is available for only one Strategic Project per year of up to $100,000.

Club Development Grant

 

Assists in the development and capacity building of sporting organisations throughout our region with a maximum grant of $1,200. Eligible projects include equipment purchases, training for volunteers and preparing planning documents.

2 rounds per year - opens approximately March and August/September each year. Next round opens 8 August 2016.  Eligibility criteria can be found in the Club Development Guidelines. Click here

Regional Sport & Recreation Event Grant Program - OPEN NOW

 

Provides funding support for events that are regionally significant and/or have a significant sport/active recreation component within an event. Applicants can apply for funding up to $3,000 from the Regional Sport & Recreation Event Grant Program.

Offered over two (2) rounds per year:

Round 1

Opens    1 July 2016

Closes    31 July 2016

Apply in this round for events held between 1 September 2016 to 31 March 2017.

Round 2

Open  1 February 2017

Closes 28 February 2017

Apply in this round for events held between 1 April 2017 to 31 August 2017.

Use of Council Plant Equipment - Sporting Groups

 

Not-for-profit sport & recreation organisations can apply for use of Council's plant equipment to maintain or improve facilities generally available to the public.
