Gladstone Regional Council issue Rate Notices annually.  The 2011/2012 Rate Notices were issued in early August 2011 for the financial year 01/07/2011 - 30/06/2012. A discount of 10% is available for payment in full by 9 September 2011. Please see your Rate Notice for Discount details.

Avoid the stress that may come with having to pay a rates notice in one lump sum by paying your 2012 rates in advance.

Gladstone Regional Council would like to remind residents that they have the option of making regular BPay instalments to pay off their next rates notice in advance. You are still eligible for the early discount if you pay in full by the due date.

Alternatively, Council offers a direct debit option where Council withdraws the nominated instalment amount from your bank account on the 21st of each month. For more information on rates prepayment options, contact Council’s Rates Department on 4976 6999.

Water Usage Notices, covering the January to June 2011 period were issued to residents on 9 August, 2011 and is payable in full within 30 days and no instalment arrangements or discount shall apply. Gladstone Regional Council offers a number of payment methods for both rates and water consumption notices.

IN PERSON:
Payment can be made at any of Gladstone Regional Council's offices. Cash, Cheque, Money Orders, Eftpos & Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard and American Express) are all accepted. Go to Office Locations page for information on office hours.

BY POST:
All cheques and money orders should be made payable to GLADSTONE REGIONAL COUNCIL.  Tear off the bottom portion of your Rate Notice and mail your payment to:- Gladstone Regional Council, Rates Department, PO Box 29, GLADSTONE DC  QLD 4680.

Please ensure that all payments made through the mail are received by Council prior to the discount expiry date.  Council will not grant discount for delays in payments reaching Council by the discount date. POST DATED CHEQUES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Please do not send cash in the post.

INTERNET:
Ratepayers also have the option of paying their rates by Internet by either BPay or POST Billpay.  Payments are made via a secure site, so your credit card details are safe.  To access internet payments via the POST billpay link, click here.

BPAY:
Simply contact your participating Financial Institution and quote Biller Code 72868.

POST BILLPAY:
Pay in person at any post office with your original rate/water notice, or phone 13 18 16 or go to their website.  Please quote Billpay Code 2440.

CREDIT CARD:
Credit Card payments can be made in person or via BPay or POST Billpay on 13 18 16.  Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard and American Express may be accepted.

INSTALMENTS:
You may choose to pay your annual rate account by instalments subject to the following conditions:-

(a) the rate discount for payment within thirty (30) or sixty (60) days is forfeited.

(b) the ratepayer must select the payment by instalments option by signing the prescribed form which is to be included with each rate notice and returning this no later than 30 days after the date of issue of the notice;

(c) No monthly reminder notices will be issued for instalments;

(d) the first instalment to be due on the 21st day of the month following the issue of the rate notice, and then on the 21st of the month in up to 12 equal instalments (depending on the month of the first instalment);

(e) no interest penalty involved in participating in the scheme.

(f) should any instalment not be received by the due date the total amount outstanding becomes due and payable and the ratepayer forfeits the right to participate in the scheme.

PERIODIC DIRECT DEBIT:
If choosing to pay by instalments, you may wish to consider the direct debit option where Council withdraws the nominated instalment amount from your bank account on the 21st of each month.

LUMP SUM DIRECT DEBIT:
This new option authorises Council to withdraw the required amount to pay your rate and / or water notices on the day prior to the due date.  It is the responsibility of the ratepayer to ensure that sufficient funds are available on the date of processing and to advise Council of any changes in writing at least 7 working days prior to the date of processing.

PAYMENTS IN ADVANCE:
Council will accept the payment in advance of rates and charges in a lump sum or via part payments. No interest will accrue on prepaid rates and charges.

ARREARS:
Accrue interest at a rate of 11% per annum calculated 365 days from date levy issued.

WATER NOTICES:
A separate notice for water consumption charges based on a six (6) month cycle is due to issue in January 2011 and is payable in full within 30 days and no instalment arrangements shall apply.

OVERSEAS RESIDENTS:
are required to forward remittances by bank draft in Australian currency to avoid short payments as a result of currency fluctuations.
 
Change of Address

If you have changed your address (56KB PDF), you must notify Council in writing so that your file can be updated. Residents who have moved house and fail to notify Council run the risk of not receiving their rates notice, or more importantly, missing out on the discount period.
