Non-Council Roads Non-Council Roads

Not all roads are maintained by Council

Council owned and maintained gravel roads within the region include 588km of major gravel roads of approximately a 7 to 6m width and 860km of minor gravel roads of a 5 to 4m width.

Council allows for the re-sheeting of major gravel roads every 10 to 15 years, with minor gravel roads re-sheeted every 15 to 20 years.

Dependent on road classifications, some rural roads, within the region are not maintained by Council.

There are several policies relating to roads in the region which can be accessed via Council’s website at http://www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/web/guest/policy-register

These include:
• Rural Roads - Construction of Roads in Rural Areas,
• Roads - Maintenance of Formed or Gravel Roads,
• Roads - Maintenance of Unformed or Unmade Roads.
