Major projects currently being undertaken by the Gladstone Regional Council include the Gladstone Airport Reconstruction Project, the Agnes Water / Seventeen Seventy Integrated Water Project (Desalination Plant) and the Seventeen Seventy Foreshore Revelopment Project.  | Gladstone Aquatic Centre redevelopment
Construction of the Gladstone Aquatic Centre redevelopment will commence on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
Features will include a revamped toddlers' pool with sprays, bubblers, mushroom and turle sculptures and an education water play area.

 | Philip Street Communities Precinct
Gladstone Regional Council is considering developing land on Phillip Street for a retirement village, a Community Services Precinct with up to seen "hubs" offering an array of integrated community services, a parkland setting incorporting an open-air ampitheatre, playgrounds, public amenities and walking trails, 50 mixed-density residential allotments and a natural buffer zone. In advance of determining whether or not to submit a formal application for this proposal, Council is now seeking input from the community.

 | Kirkwood Road
Construction is complete on the $25.3 million federally funded Kirkwood Road Stage 3 project, a new 2.3 kilometre road which will connect Gladstone-Benaraby Road with the Dawson Highway.This third and final stage was finished in April 2012 and completes the strategic ring road around the city, providing access to several major industrial areas as well as linking Port Curtis Way with the Bruce Highway.

 | Memorial Park Redevelopment

 | Wyndham Park Redevelopment
After an internal audit revealed that the play equipment in Wyndham Park no longer meets Australian Standards for Playgrounds Gladstone Regional Council closed access to the equipment with the intent to redevelop the park area in the 2011-2012 financial year.
