| | ANZAC Day Services On ANZAC Day, April 25, we remember all of the men and women who have served Australia and New Zealand in times of war or armed conflict, or international peace keeping operations. Commemorative services are hosted by various community groups throughout the region each year. |
| | Australia Day Awards Each year, Council hosts an Australia Day Awards Presentation Evening, recognising individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community or who have excelled in the sporting or cultural arenas. Residents are encouraged to nominate their local hero. |
| | Australia Day Community Event Grants To assist regional communities, Council allocates funding to approved applicants to host Australia Day Community Events in their townships. These community events complement the main regional event held annually on January 26. |
| | Australia Day Family Event Residents can celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian on January 26 at the region's major Australia Day Family Fun Day event, held at either the Gladstone Marina or Tannum Sands' Millennium Esplanade. |

| | Ecofest Thousands turn out to celebrate our environment at Ecofest, CQ's largest environmental awareness event, held annually in early June at Tondoon Botanic Gardens. Ecofest coincides with World Environment Day and boasts a wide range of eco-friendly displays and stalls. |

| | Seniors Week Each August, Council and the community celebrate Seniors Week to recognise the invaluable contribution seniors make to our region. The program is designed to encourage seniors to get active, have fun and engage in the community while learning. |
| | SUNfest SUNfest started in 1998 as a result of a youth needs study and has grown from strength to strength since. Council hosts the SUNfest Youth Program each January for two weeks during the summer school holidays, catering for lil' kids through to teenagers. |
| | Ubobo Bush Festival 2013 The best of Queensland Week 2013 will be found in the Boyne Valley this June long weekend. The Queensland Government has sponsored the Ubobo Bush Festival on Saturday, June 8 and there's no shortage of entertainment and activities on offer. |
