| Australia Day Awards |
Each year, Council hosts an Australia Day Awards Presentation Evening, recognising individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community or who have excelled in the sporting or cultural arenas. Residents are encouraged to nominate their local hero.
| Australia Day Community Event Grants |
To assist regional communities, Council allocates donation funding to approved applicants to host Australia Day Community Events in their townships. These community events complement the main regional event held annually on January 26.
| Australia Day Family Event |
Residents can celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian on January 26 at the region's major Australia Day Family Fun Day event, held at either the Gladstone Marina or Tannum Sands' Millennium Esplanade.
| Civic Celebrations |
Find out more about various Council civic celebrations, including a citizenship ceremonies and a video of a moving tribute to former Mayors George Creed OAM and Col Brown.
| Clean Up Australia Day |
Clean Up Australia Day is a great way to take action to clean up, fix up and conserve our prized Australian environment. Council provides coordination support to local communities to help clean up the Gladstone Region.
| Ecofest |
Thousands turn out to celebrate our environment at Ecofest, CQ's largest environmental awareness event, held annually in early June at Tondoon Botanic Gardens. Ecofest coincides with World Environment Day and boasts a wide range of eco-friendly displays and stalls.
| Multicultural Week |
Gladstone Multicultural Association Inc. (GMAI) in collaboration with Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) and Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours (WIN) will deliver the 2013 Multicultural Week between July 26 and August 4 this year.
| School Holiday Activities |
Looking for something to do over the school holidays? Council facilities provide a variety of family activities and plenty of fun during the school holiday periods.
| Seniors Week |
Each August (16th-24th), Council and the community celebrate Seniors Week to recognise the invaluable contribution seniors make to our region. The program is designed to encourage seniors to get active, have fun and engage in the community while learning.
| SUNfest |
SUNfest started in 1998 as a result of a youth needs study and has grown from strength to strength since. Council hosts the SUNfest Youth Program each January for two weeks during the summer school holidays, catering for lil' kids through to teenagers.
