Book a Council Park
Council welcomes the community to use Gladstone Region parks and recreation areas. Many of these park spaces are local neighbourhood parks and do not require bookings. Council also does not require bookings for small gatherings such as picnics and barbecues, however, if you are planning a Wedding or Large Function or would like to consume alcohol in a Council Park, you are advised to book with Council to avoid disappointment on the day.
To make a park booking:
| Step 1 || Contact Council's Park Bookings Team on (07) 4977 6884 to check availability and make a tentative booking. |
Park Bookings must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance, after checking your booking date is available. Council will lodge your booking as tentative for a period of 28 days. If the application and payment is not lodged within 28 days, Council reserves the right to delete the tentative booking. Large community events must be made a minimum of 28 days in advance.
| Step 2 || Download a copy of the relevant Park Bookings form and complete all details as required. |
Please be advised that by signing and submitting the application form, you agree to all Terms and Conditions associated with the booking and use of the park.
| Step 3 || |
Bring your completed application form into your nearest Council Customer Service Office.
If you require permission for alcohol at your event you are required to provide ID upon submitting your application. Please note the ID provided must be in the name of the applicant.
NB. Most Tondoon Botanic Gardens bookings are required to attend an onsite meeting with Tondoon Staff. An appointment can be made upon lodgement of your application, alternatively we will allocate an appointment and notify the hirer in the confirmation letter. The purpose of the onsite meeting is to provide instructions to Tondoon Gardens Gound Staff on the general requirements of the function.
| Step 4 || Council will send you a confirmation letter for your park booking. |
If you have requested permission to consume alcohol at your event, and this has been approved, Council will send you a "Wet Area" sign that must be clearly displayed at your event.
Changes to Bookings: Any changes to your park booking must be made 7 days in advance in writing to Council. Council cannot guarantee any changes will be approved.
Cancellations: Cancellations must be made 7 days prior to the function/event taking place. Council does not refund Park Bookings for reasons such as unfavourable weather, rain, storm etc.
Remember, Council Parks are public open space and must aways be accessible by all of the community. Exclusivity to a site or area is never guaranteed. Picnic shelters and barbecues can not be booked and are used on a first-come, fist-served basis. It is also recommended that you bring your own firewood if planning on using a wood-fired barbecue so as to avoid disappointment. Council replenishes firewood supplies in some parks on a weekly basis but cannot guarantee supplies.
