Council invites the community to use the various parks, foreshores and open spaces around the Gladstone region for weddings, parties, markets, festivals and events.

Do I need to make a park booking?

  • Are you booking a wedding?
  • Will your function have 25 people or more attending?
  • Are you hosting a public event?
  • Are you requesting permission for a jumping castle (or similar)?
  • Are you requesting permission for animals? (e.g. pony rides, petting zoo)
  • Are you hosting a fundraising event?
  • Do you wish to consume alcohol?
  • Will you need electricity or vehicle access into the park?
  • Are you an incorporated body, not-for-profit organisation, sporting club or association of any kind?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, you will need to submit a park booking application form.

Council operates a number of community centres and halls across the region that are available for hire to the public. They are located at various sites - Agnes Water, Boyne Island, Calliope, Miriam Vale, Mt Larcom and Yarwun. Each venue offers a wide range of facilities and equipment, providing for a variety of function types including weddings, conferences and other events. Applicable fees and charges apply depending on the venue hired, length of hire, facilities & equipment used and the nature of the event. Recurring bookings are welcome, subject to certain conditions of hire being met.

There are also various halls within the region operated by Community Groups/ Organisations. These halls are not managed by Council, therefore hirers must contact the Hall Committees directly. Information and contact details for these halls are located via Council's Community Services Directory.
