The new $3.54 million Agnes Water Community Centre Complex has been officially opened.
The complex houses Gladstone Regional Council's Rural Transaction Centre and Library, plus the Discovery Coast Tourism Information Centre.
The library is significantly larger than the former one and offers greater resources, more computers, free Wi-Fi, longer opening hours and ample seating.
The complex can be found at 71 Springs road, about 700 metres from the intersection of springs Road and Captain Cook drive, adjacent to Agnes Water Museum.
The project received funding of $1.026 million for the Rural Transaction Centre and $439,000 for the Multicultural Resource Centre, which houses the Library, through the Federal Government's Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government Community Infrastructure Program.
The remainder of the project was Council funded.
The centre is the booking point for meeting rooms within the facility plus the Old Agnes Water Community Centre located nearby.
