Healthy Active Gladstone Region works in conjunction with various organisations and research projects within the Gladstone Region to actively link groups to living a healthier lifestyle.

is a newly created program to link migrants with sport and recreation opportunities within the Gladstone Region.

The program aims to:

  • Integrate migrant people as participants into sport and recreation through a support system networks; and
  • Assist migrant people to volunteer within the community, through training and support; and
  • Deliver cultural awareness training to clubs and community organisations providing sport and recreation activities; and
  • Conduct come and try days for migrant families to learn the rules, basic skills and culture of sport and to meet club members.

Healthy Active Gladstone Region works in partnership with CQUniversity to actively encourage men to be involved in healthy eating and physical activity through the ManUp project.

ManUp Gladstone is a research project, run by CQUniversity, to improve the physical activity and eating habits of 35-54 year old men in the Gladstone Region. Participants will receive FREE access to a physical activity and healthy eating program developed specifically for men.
