A Healthy Active Gladstone Region Ambassador is a volunteer who is interested and committed to making the Gladstone Region a healthy and active region. An Ambassador is defined as: “Someone who represents and promotes quality”.
Profile of an Ambassador
An Ambassador is a person (a champion) who can represent the vision and values of our Healthy Active Gladstone Region Strategy.
We are seeking people who are activists, people who are passionate about their community being healthy and active and people who want to be part of an innovative and exciting initiative.
Ambassadors can decide how much time they want to devote to the Strategy, it can be as little as one hour per week, or as much time as it takes to make our communities healthy and active.
It will be the role of the Ambassador to motivate and encourage people to be more active and healthy. This could be done through:
- Talking to people in their everyday lives (at work, in the neighbourhood);
- Going to public places (shops, park, schools, street, etc...) and talking to people, handing out flyers and linking people with physical activities and healthy options;
- Visiting other communities in the region to talk and motivate; and/or
- Any other ideas you have
