The 2013 Australia Day celebrations at the Gladstone Marina and the Community Events at Calliope, Seventeen Seventy, Miriam Vale, Turkey Beach and Builyan were cancelled as a result of heavy rain and the forecast of more to follow.
Unallocated funds from the 2013 event will be redirected to next year's Australia Day celebrations at the Millennium Esplanade at Tannum Sands.
A total of almost $5000 in grant funding were allocated to the groups below:
- Endeavour Park; DCTC Captain Cook 1770 Festival Committee - Australia Day Family Fun Day at Agnes Water's Endeavour Park
- Turkey Beach Progress Association - Australia Day Family Fun Day at Turkey Beach Foreshore Esplanade;
- Miriam Vale Lions Club - Australia Day Family Fun Morning at Miriam Vale Community Centre;
- Calliope Junior Rugby League Club - Australia Day Family Fun Day at Calliope football grounds; and
- Builyan/Many Peaks Community Development Association - Australia Day Breakfast Celebration at Builyan Community Hall.
