Standing Committees were established at Council’s General Meeting on 19 April 2016. These Committees discuss complex or strategic issues allowing our Councillors to specialise in particular areas of Council. Committees allow greater responsibility for Councillors and accountability for decision making.
Each of the 5 Committees discuss in detail specific items relating to that Committee with recommendations to go to a General Meeting of Council for adoption. Committees are the network which inform the General Meeting and do not have delgated authority or the ability to make Council resolutions.
It is important that Committee Agendas and Minutes be read in conjunction with the next General Meeting Agenda and Minutes.
