Gladstone Regional Council hosts and supports the following major events. Click on the links below for more information:

The region's RSL sub-branches run ANZAC Day services around the region. Some locations have several services. Everyone is encouraged to attend these.

Australia Day Awards
Each year, Council hosts an Australia Day Awards Presentation Evening, recognising individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community or who have excelled in the sporting or cultural arenas. Residents are encouraged to nominate their local hero.

Australia Day Community Event Grants
To assist regional communities, Council allocates donation funding to approved applicants to host Australia Day Community Events in their townships. These community events complement the main regional event held annually on January 26.

Australia Day Family Event
Residents can celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian on January 26 at the region's major Australia Day Family Fun Day event, held at Tannum Sands' Millennium Esplanade.

Band Together - Bushfire Benefit Concert
Join the Gladstone Region as we Band Together  to support those affected by the 2018 CQ Bushfires and to recognise the individuals and groups who helped and raised funds for the continuing recovery efforts across the region. Enjoy a night of live music from country music superstar Adam Harvey, with support from local acts Beautifully Broken 1770 and Kissing the Flint. There’s fun for the whole family with kids’ activities and food stalls to grab a bite.

Civic Celebrations
Find out more about various Council civic celebrations, including a citizenship ceremonies and a video of a moving tribute to former Mayors George Creed OAM and Col Brown.

Christmas Street Party
The annual Gladstone Regional Council Christmas Street Party, is a free community event held each year in December. Christmas Street Party is a fun family event, where Goondoon Street is activated with lights, market stalls, live entertainment and so much more!

Clean Up Australia Day
Clean Up Australia Day is a great way to take action to clean up, fix up and conserve our prized Australian environment. Council provides coordination support to local communities to help clean up the Gladstone Region.

2018 Commonwealth Games Baton Relay
The Queen's Baton Relay passed through the Gladstone Region on Saturday 24th March 2018.  There were free community events held in Gladstone, Miriam Vale and Agnes Water.

Easter in Gladstone
The Gladstone region is on show this coming Easter long weekend, with the Gladstone Harbour Festival, the 71ST Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race and join spectators and yachties as they cross the finish line and party in style at the B2G Village.

Thousands turn out to celebrate our environment at Ecofest, CQ's largest environmental awareness event, held annually in early June at Tondoon Botanic Gardens. Ecofest coincides with World Environment Day and boasts a wide range of eco-friendly displays and stalls.

Gladstone Region Multicultural Week and Festival Day
Gladstone Multicultural Association Inc. (GMAI) in collaboration with Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) and Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours (WIN) deliver the Multicultural Week.

Moonlight Movies
A family movie night under the stars! Bring your family and friends to the Gladstone Region’s Moonlight Movies, coming to a park near you!  Moonlight Movies are free community events. Make sure to bring a picnic blanket, basket and chair, and get ready for a fun family night out!

Seniors Week
Council and the community celebrate Seniors Week to recognise the invaluable contribution seniors make to our region. The program is designed to encourage seniors to get active, have fun and engage in the community while learning.

SUNfest started in 1998 as a result of a youth needs study and has grown from strength to strength since. Council hosts the SUNfest Youth Program each January for two weeks during the summer school holidays, catering for lil' kids through to teenagers.

Summer Events Guide
The Summer Events Guide is an action-packed guide to the events Gladstone Regional Council is facilitating over the summer months. From beautiful art exhibitions and entertaining live shows, to child-friendly workshops and summer cooking classes – there’s something for everyone!
