Earth Hour Earth Hour

On March 19, hundreds of millions of global citizens, from one hundred different countries, united in the action of lights out. Earth Hour is a call to action to every individual, every business and every community.

Why take part?

Earth Hour is a WWF initiative which originated in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then, Earth Hour has gained a global following. With over 4000 cities in over 128 countries taking part, Earth Hour has grown into the world’s largest community-driven campaign for the planet.

If this can be achieved in only four short years, imagine what else can be done!  Earth Hour is a demonstration of the power of individuals, communities, businesses and governments uniting to make a difference.

What can you do?

1. Sign up and switch off for Earth Hour – rally your friends and family and make it a night to remember. Switching off is a simple act, yet a hugely powerful one, making a statement that we care about the planet.

2. Go beyond the hour and commit to enduring changes for the planet. Earth Hour is the perfect time to make simple, everyday changes to our lives to reduce our environmental footprint.

We all have a part to play. It is through the sum of our efforts that we will make a difference and together lead to way to a greener and more prosperous future.
