Services rally together to help those affected by bushfires

7 December, 2018

Gladstone Regional Council, working alongside the Department of Communities today welcomed OrangeSky Australia as they aid residents in the Deepwater area affected by the CQ Bushfires.

OrangeSky is an organisation that aims to positively connect communities through free laundry, shower services and conversation.

OrangeSky will provide free laundry and shower services to residents who this week returned to their properties after being impacted by bushfires.

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said it’s amazing how doing something as simple as laundry can bring a little bit of normality back into residents’ lives.

“OrangeSky will be working from the Recovery Hub at Wartburg Sport and Recreation Grounds,” Councillor Burnett said.

“They will be providing free laundry services and shower services to any affected residents.”

OrangeSky will provide services from today until Thursday 13 December.

They will operate within the Recovery Hub opening hours of 9am – 5pm, daily.
