Matthew Flinders Bridge to undergo maintenance works on Thursday
Gladstone Regional Council advises that Matthew Flinders (Marina) Bridge in Gladstone, will temporarily close to tall marine vessels for routine operational maintenance on Thursday (June 14).
Maintenance procedures for the bascule bridge, located on Bryan Jordan Drive, will be conducted from 7.30am to 3pm with the bridge to be locked in the ‘down’ position from 7.30am to noon.
This will prevent tall marine vessels which require the bridge to be raised from gaining passage through it.
If maintenance procedures are complete prior to noon, the bridge will re-open to tall marine vessels as soon as possible.
The bridge will remain operational for vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the maintenance process.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while the necessary maintenance work is in progress and thanks the community for its patience.
