Interest sought from musicians to perform during cruise ship visits
Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Gladstone Region musicians to perform on the Library Square stage during cruise ship visits.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said GECC was seeking EOIs from solo artists and bands who were interested in performing at a new initiative, Lunch @ Library Square from June 6.
“Lunch @ Library Square is designed to add a musical atmosphere to the area inspiring tourists from cruise ships docking in Gladstone to take a walk and explore Goondoon Street,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Local residents will also be able to enjoy the community entertainment with performances held on the first Friday of every month to coincide with the arrival of cruise ships into Gladstone.
“Those working around the CBD will also be able to take their lunch break, relax at Library Square and appreciate the talents of our region’s musicians.”
Interested musicians will need to be self-sufficient providing their own gear with only limited equipment provided by GECC.
Lunch @ Library Square will be held from 11.30am to 2.30pm on June 6 and 22, July 19, August 3 and 5, September 7, October 5 and 27, November 2 and December 7.
On December 9 performances will be held from 12.30pm to 3pm.
Lunch @ Library Square EOIs close on May 30 and can be submitted online at http://gladecc.com.au/2018/05/expressions-of-interest-from-gladstone-region-musicians/
