Gladstone Skate Park closed over the weekend
Gladstone Regional Council advises the Gladstone Skate Park at Memorial Park is closed over the weekend.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said a decision was made today to close the facility, until further structural assessments, following damage sustained during a severe weather event on Tuesday night (12 Mar).
“Preliminary assessments of the shade structure have been under way and the damaged pole has been removed, however in the interests of public safety, until the full extent of the damage is determined, the Gladstone Skate Park will remain closed,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Please observe temporary fencing erected in the area and do not enter the skate park.”
Cr Burnett said it was yet to be determined if remediation works would be required.
“In the meantime, our Bray Park Pump Track will be operational at Boyne Island with our official opening of that facility tomorrow (Sat 16 Mar),” he said.
