Expressions of Interest open seeking potential tutors for SUNfest 2018
Tutors keen to be involved in the Gladstone Region's summer youth school holiday program, SUNfest 2018, are invited to apply now.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Expressions of Interest were sought from prospective tutors or presenters interested in delivering youth workshops or activities.
"SUNfest provides our residents aged between 11 and 17 with an opportunity to participate in a selection of affordable activities across the Gladstone Region," Councillor Burnett said.
"Potential tutors who are willing to share their skills and talents with youth are encouraged to express their interest in SUNfest involvement early."
SUNfest, scheduled from Monday, January 8 to Friday, January 19, will be managed by Gladstone Regional Council's Youth Development team and is guided by input from the Gladstone Region Youth Council.
Cr Burnett said each year hundreds of youths participate in SUNfest activities.
"The program offers fun and interesting workshops, events, activities and outings enabling our young residents to learn new skills, be entertained, make new friends, or challenge themselves," he said.
"Some popular activities feature regularly in the program while efforts are made to add new and exciting activities each year.
"Participants often take something home with them, ranging from an object, new skill or interest."
Prospective tutors or presenters are encouraged to submit a SUNfest Expression of Interest by September 15. Information is available at www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/sunfest
