The Gladstone Community Advisory Service offers a free counselling and support service to residents to assist individuals and families experiencing crisis and/or distress.
In an environment of trust and respect, the Counsellor can assist you to gain a clearer understanding of whatever challenges you have, identify appropriate strategies or options for you to consider and help you to explore alternatives so that you can make the best possible decisions for yourself.
Our professional, responsive and respectful service is available to assist with:
- Personal counselling;
- Child and family counselling;
- Crisis intervention;
A number of strength based educational life skills programs and workshops are facilitated regularly to assist members of the community. For a full range of programs and workshops available please see the program brochure (download).
No referrals are needed to access the service, however, appointments are essential.
All services are provided free of charge, are non-judgmental and confidentiality is assured.

Council, together with the Gladstone Community Legal Program, are offering free information sessions entitled 'Separation and Co-parenting - How to do it well' on June 20 from 6-9pm at the Community Advisory Service. Legal and social aspects of parenting and separation will be covered by a Solicitor and Family Support Worker. Bookings are essential on 49766300.
