Who Can Join?
Membership is free to all permanent residents of the Gladstone Regional Council area. Otherwise a refundable deposit is required.
How To Join
Gladstone Permanent Residents
All new members must produce proof of identity and residency. Please see staff for more details. Borrowers will also need to supply an alternative contact name & address (eg. employer, relative or contactable friend).
Persons under 18 years of age
Children need a parent or guardian to join them. The parent/guardian must produce proof of identity and residency.
Provisional Members
All new members who are not permanent residents of the Gladstone Regional Council area are required to pay a refundable deposit of: $50 per individual, or $100 per family. Proof of identity & current address is required as well as an alternative contact name & address. The full deposit is held until the borrower terminates his/her library membership & all items have been returned & outstanding matters settled.
Fines & Costs
Overdues
There are no fines for overdue items. However, if any item is two (2) weeks overdue a warning will be placed on the membership card. This will stay on for 1 year.
If the card gets 3 warnings then the membership can be suspended for up to 6 months.
Damaged or Lost Items
If a member damages or loses any library item they are required to pay the replacement cost. If you have any queries please ask at the desk. There is also a small fee for minor damage to any library item.
Other Costs
- Replacement of lost membership card -- $3.00 (Inc. 10% GST)
- Replacement of lost cassette or CD sleeves or cases -- $3.00 (Inc. 10% GST)
- Replacement of lost or damaged DVD or videocassette case -- $2.50 (Inc. 10% GST)
- Photocopying per page -- 20c per page (Inc. 10% GST)
- Computer printouts - 20c per page for black and white (Inc. 10% GST)
